About
I am an international scholar from Italy. I moved to the United States when I was twenty-four years old. Ever since, I have been researching the socio-cultural legacy of enforced mobility and the migratory cultural production of both Italy—my home country—and the Latin American Southern Cone—particularly Argentina. I am specialized in Italian Studies and Latin American Literature and Visual Arts with an interdisciplinary interest in the fields of Environmental Humanities and Migration Studies. I have a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia (2020), a Certificate in Afro-Latin American Studies from the Hutchins Center at Harvard University, and I have collaborated with Columbia University and the University of Manchester as Research Fellow. My current book project explores the transformative power of artivism (art + activism) in fostering social change and reclaiming the narratives of migratory and diasporic communities in contemporary Argentina. I am currently a faculty member in the Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese at the University of Virginia.
